Beginner-friendly girls golf lessons in New Orleans

New Orleans is one of the most underrated junior golf cities in the South. Between Bayou Oaks at City Park, Joseph Bartholomew Golf Course, and a growing network of public-access ranges, the city offers girls more on-ramps into the game than most cities its size. What's been missing is a structured, beginner-first girls golf program in New Orleans — and that's what Girls Golf LPGA* USGA Curriculum exists to build.

Our New Orleans girls golf lessons are designed for girls who have never picked up a club. Small, girls-only cohorts that meet Mondays and Wednesdays starting September 2026. Loaner clubs ready on day one — with the option to buy a fitted set at a discount or bring her own. A real four-week curriculum that ends with on-course play and a graduation celebration.

Why girls golf matters in New Orleans

The New Orleans golf community runs deep — from the historic significance of Joseph Bartholomew, the trailblazing Black golf course architect, to the youth pathways anchored at Bayou Oaks at City Park. Yet girls remain dramatically underrepresented in junior golf rosters across the city.

Girls-only programming changes that. When confidence is the first thing built, retention into a second season nearly doubles compared to mixed-gender clinics. The instruction doesn't change — the social experience does.

Built for absolute beginners

Our coaching follows the LPGA*USGA Girls Golf methodology — the same framework used by certified Girls Golf sites across the country. The four-week progression is intentional: foundations → short game → full swing → on-course play.

  • Girls-only cohorts of 8–10 players per track
  • Two age-grouped tracks: 5–8 and 9–13
  • Option to buy a fitted junior set at a discounted academy rate — yours to keep
  • Already have clubs? Bring her own — no extra cost
  • Loaner clubs available on-site at every practice
  • Coaches trained in the LPGA*USGA Girls Golf framework
  • Parent dashboard with schedule, messages, and photos

Clubs: buy, bring, or borrow

Equipment should never be the reason a girl doesn't try golf. Families have three options: buy a fitted junior set at a discounted academy rate (yours to keep), bring her own clubs if she already has a set, or use loaner clubs we keep on-site at every practice.

Schedule and location

The first New Orleans cohort runs in September 2026, Mondays and Wednesdays, with two age tracks per evening — 4:00 PM (Ages 5–8) and 5:15 PM (Ages 9–13). Cohorts are planned in partnership with public-access facilities including Bayou Oaks at City Park and Joseph Bartholomew Golf Course; the final venue is confirmed as interest-list enrollment lands.

A trusted program for New Orleans parents

Every coach is background-checked. Child records, photos, and parent messages live inside a dedicated, private parent dashboard. We operate inside the LPGA*USGA Girls Golf framework so parents know exactly what curriculum and safeguards are in place.

Louisiana girls golf programs, anchored statewide

Girls Golf LPGA* USGA Curriculum is built as a Louisiana-wide platform — founded in Baton Rouge, expanding into New Orleans, Shreveport, and Lafayette, and designed to scale across the broader Gulf Coast. The curriculum, coaching standards, and safety protocols are the same everywhere; only the partner facility changes.

FAQ

New Orleans girls golf FAQ

Where in New Orleans does the program take place?
New Orleans cohorts are planned in partnership with public-access facilities including Bayou Oaks at City Park and Joseph Bartholomew Golf Course. The September 2026 venue is confirmed once interest-list enrollment hits the minimum across age tracks.
Is this only for New Orleans residents?
No. Families across Orleans, Jefferson, and St. Tammany parishes — including Metairie, Kenner, Slidell, and Mandeville — are welcome.
What programs do you offer?
Teach Girls Golf Academy runs four program tracks: Beginner Clinics, Academy Series (multi-week seasonal training), Advanced Development (competitive prep), and Tournaments & Events.
What ages are programs for?
Girls ages 6–17, organized into two age tracks per location (typically 5–8 and 9–13) so girls train alongside peers at a similar stage.
Where are programs held?
We run programs in four Louisiana metros: Baton Rouge (City Park Driving Range), New Orleans, Lafayette, and Shreveport. New locations are added seasonally based on demand.
Are absolute beginners welcome?

Do participants need their own clubs?
No — equipment is available on-site for Beginner Clinics. Academy Series and Advanced Development enrollment includes options for clubs-included tuition.
How do I enroll?
Create a parent account, add your daughter's profile, choose your city, pick the program that fits her stage, and complete secure checkout. You'll get a confirmation email with everything you need for week one.
Is there a competition pathway?
